ACQUISITION AND DESIGN & BUILT PROJECT CONTRACT MANAGEMENT

  • To explain arbitration procedures and methods to increase efficiency in the arbitral proceedings.

(UBE 3)

To provide understanding regarding claims resulting from variations work and the preparation of contract cost adjustment based on JKR’s circular and procedures.

Course Objectives:

  • Specific knowledge on variations work, claims, adjustment of contract sum in line with contractual requirements in effect.

To provide knowledge on works contract administration in accordance with JKR’s and Ministry of Finance’s current circulars. Emphasis on important clauses of the conditions of contract.

Course Objectives:

  • To enhance knowledge in tender procedural practices and departmental procedures in order to improve skills in tender and contract management.

To enable participants to measure earthwork quantities such as areas required to be cut and filled.

  • Construction aspects, Measurement Specifications, Amplification and Pricing factors, Provision in SMM and Site preparation.

  • Types of plant and machinery for earthworks.

PILING WORK QUANTITIES
(UBE 6)

To enable participants to measure and provide cost estimate effectively.

Course Objectives:

  • To measure piling work quantities in accordance with current practice in order to standardize quantity list provision.

  • To enhance skills in measurement of piling work quantities.

  • Construction aspects, Measurement Specifications, Amplification and Pricing factors, Provision in SMM.

  • Types of piles such as concrete pile, timber pile and steel pile.

  • Types of plan.

(UBE 8)

To provide building works estimates for project tender participation.

Course Objectives:

  • To understand the elements of building and engineering works including estimates costing and tender.

  • Understanding project cost estimates and methods of preparing and planning estimation.

  • Understanding accuracy and estimation strategy.

  • Knowledge on scope of building and engineering works and preparation of detailed estimation.

  • Introduction to construction industry and elements of building and engineering works.

  • Accuracy and estimation strategy.

  • Scope of building and engineering works and detail of estimation.
